My Story

I’m Sydnie, originally from Kentucky and now living on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula since 2023. I’m a documentary photographer drawn to the quiet, in-between moments. The ones that go unnoticed until they’ve passed and you wish so badly to go back to.

The way your child reaches for you without thinking. The quiet rythem of your home on a Sunday morning. The way you love each other in the smallest, most ordinary ways.

This is what i document.

I’m a mum of two, and my own journey into motherhood - including experiencing a beautiful homebirth- has deeply shaped the way I see and hold these moments. It’s given me a quiet respect for how powerful, intimate and fleeting each season can be.

I’ve always been the friend capturing everything. Not the big posed moments, but the real ones ever since I can remeber. I think I have my mamaw to thank for that trait. I love documenting the laughter and the chaos, that instinct has never really left.

My approach is slow and observational. I will direct and prompt you when needed but will otherwise hold space for you to simply be. The result is imagery that feel honest, connected, and true to your life as it is right now.

Because one day it won’t look like this.

And those oridinary moments, the ones that feel small right now, will be the ones you ache to remember.

It’s a privilege to be invited into your story and to preserve it with care.

Sydnie xx
